McKinney residents make significant contributions to the operation of this agency through the payment of property taxes. These contributions are above the fees that they also pay for programs and services as offered by the city. In recognition of this contribution, McKinney residents qualify for the “Resident Discount” price for all programs. Those who live outside the boundaries of the City of McKinney and who participate within programs qualify for the “Class Fee” price.
You must provide proof of residency the first time you register in order to receive the “Resident Discount” rates. Once you are in our system, you will not need to prove residency again unless your address changes. The only acceptable forms of proof include a valid driver’s license or state identification card or a current electric, gas, water or garbage bill that shows your address. Resident Discounts are only available to those who live within the city limits of McKinney.
Waitlists are automatically created when we have more registrations for a program than we have space. Your receipt will indicate if you are registered for a program or have been placed on the waiting list.
Full refunds will be issued for any program canceled by McKinney Performing Arts Center. Participants may request refunds for classes up to three business days before the program’s first meeting. Refunds for classes under $8 will not be issued.
Refunds for trips and contractual workshops will only be issued if the spot can be filled from the waiting list.
A $5 administration fee will be charged against your refunds for cancellations, including those due to medical problems, to cover clerical and administrative costs. There are no administrative fees charged when a program is canceled by MPAC.
Fees paid by credit cards will be refunded through charge account credits. Refund processing takes three to five weeks.
Changes/CancellationsPrograms are sometimes canceled or altered due to low registration, changes in staff or facility availability. If a program has been canceled or altered, we will work with you to transfer your registration to another program of your choice.
Due to the large amount of information available in the McKinney Parks and Recreation Activity Guide, errors before or after publication may occur. We apologize for any errors in this brochure and we will advise you of any changes as quickly as possible. We will also attempt to keep information on our website as current as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding when these situations occur.
Registrants and participants of programs and special events permit MPAC to take photos and videos of themselves and their children for publication in the program brochure, website and additional uses as the department deems necessary unless the registrant or participant expressively files a written objection as to the use of photos or videos of themselves and/or their children.
All facility participants are expected to follow the rules of the facilities. Disregard or abuse of facility rules may result in removal by staff or police from the facility for a designated length of time or permanently.
